The Cottage Pantry

Design a cosy cottagecore preserves recipe journal.

Concept:
A handwritten little book of jams and pickles you make jar by jar through the seasons.

Layout / Structure:
- A warm, usable recipe dashboard
- A gingham banner title with a scalloped lower edge
- Left: a pantry shelf of clickable jars
- Center: an open recipe card on faintly lined paper — ingredients and numbered method
- Right: a jar illustration with a label, a yield note and a seal button

Visual System:
- Warm newsprint-cream paper, NOT dark mode
- Soft pastoral palette: sage green, dusty rose, butter yellow, soft brown ink
- Gingham checks, scalloped edges, hand-stitched dashed borders, tiny botanical marks
- Handwriting display type beside a gentle serif — NO glow, NO glass, NO neon, NO hard chrome

Interaction:
- Choosing a jar swaps the recipe, illustration and seasonal note
- The jar fill colour changes per preserve
- Sealing drops a gingham cloth over the lid and presses a wax stamp

Mood:
Cosy.
Pastoral.
Hand-made.
Unhurried and warm.
